Noah Hawley, of Fargo fame, is gearing up to executive produce Legion, an upcoming FX Marvel drama that will follow diagnosed schizophrenic David Haller as he gives up hope of ever recovering — but then falls in love with a girl who renews his passion for life.
According to a press release, Dan Stevens will star in the show as the aforementioned David Haller, with Aubrey Plaza playing his formerly drug-addicted friend Lenny. Jean Smart (who recently played the leader of a midwestern crime syndicate on Fargo) also joins the cast as Haller’s therapist with a penchant for employing nontraditional treatments. Rachel Keller, who had already been cast, will play Syd, a secret softie who refuses to give up on the concept of a “happily ever after.”
Legion will begin filming in March and is slated to premiere sometime in 2016.
