Netflix released a trailer for an upcoming children’s cartoon series called Beat Bugs, which will blend child-friendly narratives with original covers of more than 50 Beatles songs.
Written, directed and produced by Josh Wakely, Beat Bugs tells uplifting stories of five child-like bug friends, with Beatles tunes woven into the story.
According to Deadline, Birdy, James Bay, The Shins, Of Monsters and Men, James Corden and Regina Spektor will all perform songs, across the season, including “Help!,” “All You Need Is Love,” “Come Together,” “Penny Lane,” “Yellow Submarine,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” According to the trailer, Eddie Vedder will cover “Magical Mystery Tour,” Chris Cornell will perform “Drive My Car,” P!nk (Pink) will play “Lucy in The Sky with Diamonds,” and Sia will sing “Blackbird.”
Netflix said it will reveal more artists and songs from the series between now and when the series launches in August.
