New (Final?) Trailer for Netflix’s ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny’ Promises Wire Fu

The original Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, directed by Ang Lee and released all the way back in 2000, was mainstream America’s introduction to wire fighting, also known as wire fu. The world has been inundated with wire-fighting movies since — Hero, House of Flying Daggers are two of the two best — but Netflix is bringing back one of the originals, with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny coming February 26. Today, they released the third — and final? — trailer.

Unfortunately, this trailer isn’t soundtracked by “Bad Moon Rising,” but it does have a lot of drama and some cool scenes that show off the wire fu that is going to have everyone tuning in. Also, what is the Sword of Destiny? Was it forged by destiny, or is it only able to be wielded by those whose destiny is to wield it? Does it have anything to do with the book by Andrzej Sapkowski? Probably not.

The acting looks pretty bad, and the story is beside the point, so the wire fu is pretty much the main and only attraction. But that’s good enough for us.
