Flight of the Conchords Are Probably Flying to a City Near You

Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie are back, and thank God. The world was so bleak without New Zealand’s second-best musical comedy duo, who just announced that they will be heading out on a tour of the U.S. this summer.

We don’t usually report on tour news here, because tour news is so specific to the cities in which an artist plans to tour, but with the Flight of the Conchords, who have been missing in action for years, it’s cause for excitement. The quality of the duo’s music certainly went downhill after the first season of the HBO show, probably due to the fact that the first season was built around pre-existing tunes, and the second season required that the guys write songs on a timeline.

With more than six years since the end of the HBO show, though, they should have plenty of material to work with. “I’m thrilled to get back on the road with over half the original band,” McKenzie joked in a press release. Will this result in a filmed special? Who knows. Will it result in a song that becomes a classic on the level of “Humans Are Dead”? Not likely.
