It was head-scratching news last year when Lady Gaga was announced as one of the leads for Ryan Murphy’s anthology series, American Horror Story. Having won a Golden Globe for her role in Hotel, though, it’s pretty obvious why she’s confirmed that she’ll appear in the show’s next season, which currently doesn’t have a subtitle.
Gaga confirmed the news on the primitive medium of radio this morning, talking on “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show.” The meat of the interview focuses on Gaga’s Oscar-nominated song, “Til It Happens to You,” which unfortunately didn’t win. (Though, it was for a good cause, as her loss allowed Sam Smith to win the first openly gay Oscar.)
Gaga joins AHS alums Angela Bassett and Sarah Paulson, who had already confirmed their return to the show prior to Gaga’s news this morning. Fans of Gaga’s Hotel character, the Countess, shouldn’t get too excited, though, as there’s only the slimmest possibility that she won’t be playing an entirely new character.
