Emmy-winning Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus will executive produce a new miniseries in development at HBO called Soldier Girls. Based on Soldier Girls: The Battles of Three Women at Home and at War by Helen Thorpe, the story is about real-life women who enlist in the National Guard and serve during the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars. Three of the women form a life-long friendship. According to Deadline, Louis-Dreyfus will exec produce with her husband Brad Hall. The project will be written by former soldier and Black list writer Nicole Riegel. Watch a trailer for the Thorpe book, below.
