There’s a fourth Sharknado brewing, and a whole new set of actors has agreed to get sucked in.
The series’ core cast — Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, David Hasselhoff and Ryan Newman — will return for Sharknado 4, Syfy announced Wednesday. Reid’s return comes following a social media straw poll where fans were asked to vote on whether or not her character would die.
The sequel will take place five surprisingly shark-free years after the events of the last film, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! Syfy promised that new Sharknados will appear in the “least expected” ways, begging the question: Is there a reasonable way to expect a tornado made of sharks?
With the returning cast comes a new wave of human chum ready to be gobbled… around? The newcomers include an impressive slate of names you might recognize, if not adore. Gary Busey will be poised to steal show as Wilford Wexler, prominent robotics expert and father of Tara Reid’s character, April. In Living Color star — remember In Living Color, folks? — Tommy Davidson plays tech company CEO Aston Reynolds. Cheryl Tiegs plays Raye Shepard, mother to Ian Ziering’s shark-disaster-fighter Fin. Imani Hakim, Masiela Lusha, and Cody Linley also join the cast.
Sharknado 4 will air on Syfy in July 2016.
