The Best and Worst of Last Night’s ‘SNL’ with Ariana Grande

Share:

Grammy-nominated singer Ariana Grande has a decent sense of comedic timing thanks to her days as a child star on Nickelodeon. Grande has no problem poking fun at herself and showed off some of her vocal chops on last night’s SNL. She was also the musical guest. The presidential election continued to take center stage (Larry David’s Bernie Sanders gets better and better). We’re really feeling the lack of Leslie Jones these past few episodes. Also, where are they hiding Sasheer Zamata? See how it all went down last night, below.

The Best

“Carson Endorsement Cold Open”

Ben Carson gets his ass kicked at a Trump rally. Bernie Sanders really does wear old-man pajamas under his suit.

“Ariana Grande Monologue”

Grande pokes fun at herself with a straight face and pines for a real scandal to ruin her reputation (in song).

“Hillary Campaign Ad”

Feel the bern . . . for Hillary.

“Mermaids”

We really need to know if a blobfish poops out of its mouth.

“Weekend Update”

Riblet, Riblet, Riblet.

“Tidal”

A no-brainer, but Grande does a mean Britney Spears and Shakira.

“Celebrity Family Feud With Ariana Grande”

We stuck with it for a tiny bit of Tilda.

The Worst

“Kids’ Choice Awards”

Things get awkward at the Kids’ Choice Awards, but not awkward enough for us. Taran Killam gives the best crazy face.

“This Is Not a Feminist Song”

A lot of feminism to fit into one song, which isn’t funny enough for an entire pre-recorded segment. But as the lyrics remind us, it’s impossible to please every audience.

“Sound of Music”

Maria’s attitude problem is only funny for so long.
