Have Rumors About a ‘Spice Girls’ 20th Anniversary Reunion Tour Become Reality? Maybe Not, But Here Are More Rumors!

Last year, Melanie Brown aka Mel B. aka Scary Spice appeared on the Today Show and sparked a collective fervor among children of the ’90s about the potential that “a Spice Girls reunion [would] spice up our lives in 2016.” Brown had mentioned “gathering the troops” around the 20th anniversary, and now it’s been confirmed (by an unnamed source… in US Weekly… so maybe let’s say further rumored and likely) that the Girls shall Spice again this year in the form of a reunion tour.

A source allegedly told the publication that a reunion tour “has been in the works for the past year,” that “the girls have long been keen to do [it],” and that Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell are all in on the idea, while Victoria Beckham (Posh) is still deliberating. A separate source stated that if Beckham didn’t participate, that wouldn’t necessarily stymie their plans:

They are trying to convince Victoria to jump in, but she doesn’t want to do it…If she doesn’t agree, they are moving ahead without her.

A few days ago Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) said in The Telegraph of her former (and future?) collaborators:

We adore each other. There’s so much we’ve been through. I would love to do something…I think we’d all quite like to do something, but it really is figuring it out.

Here’s hoping that an unnamed source in US Weekly knows something about them having finally “figured it out” that Bunton isn’t revealing… and here’s hoping that if it does happen, it won’t be nearly as depressing as, say, last year’s 90s Fest .
