The audience directed the Vermont senator’s attention to the feathered friend as it fluttered nearby during his speech. “Now you see, this little bird doesn’t know it . . . ” Sanders said. Before he could finish his sentence, the bird landed on his podium, and the crowd went wild. “I think there may be some symbolism here.
