Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is almost as much about attitude as it is about plot, so it makes sense that the newest promo for the show’s upcoming second season has absolutely nothing to do with the latter and everything to do with the former.
The minute-long promo below finds Kimmy “Kimmy-fying” the world, exiting the subway and ruining the days of however many New Yorkers, all while smiling her big, blinding smile. In the process, she manages to transform a man’s grey suit into a pink suit, the sidewalk into a catwalk, and a homeless man begging for Broadway tickets into walking sunshine.
The brief promo excels at delivering Kimmy’s misplaced optimism without becoming cloying or overstaying its welcome — probably because it’s only here for one minute. Even when Tituss Burgess bursts into “Peeno Noir” you can’t help but smile.
