No better way to start the morning than with some rocking tuneage, right? Just fire up those amps, crank those guitars, bang those snares, and jam away, man. That’s what Explosions in the Sky did last night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and it’s the perfect way to soundtrack your Tuesday morning breakfast.
The Texas quintet played “Disintegration Anxiety” from their new album The Wilderness, and, pleasantly enough, the three minutes of scuzz that they created didn’t result in much anxiety, only a kind of urgent calmness. Maybe the song title is meant to be “disintegration of anxiety”? Regardless, it’s not often a band makes the effort to drag tuned percussion on to a late night stage, so kudos to them.
Watch the clip below. The band is currently on an international tour — you can find more information about that here.
