As he gears up to release the second edition of his Marvel Black Panther comic book series next week, National Book Award-winning author and journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates has even more good news to share. This morning, One World, a Random House Publishing imprint, announced that Coates would be releasing two new books through the company.
As exciting as the news is that we will be graced with not one, but two new books from the Genius Award recipient, that’s not even the best part: That would have to be the fact that one of the books is a work of fiction — the other is nonfiction. One World publisher Chris Jackson, who also edited Coates’ New York Times bestseller Between the World and Me, acquired the books.
As for now, information about the books is scarce — no titles, no release dates, and definitely no clues as to what we can expect from his fiction debut. All we know is that the first book is slated to be released sometime next year; no word on if it will be the fiction or the nonfiction release. So, until 2017, I guess.
It was also recently announced that Coates would be recording video recaps for his Black Panther comics.
