If you’ve ever looked at dog and cat shows from afar and thought, wow, that whole thing looks weird as hell, then hey, you’re right! Or, at least, that’s the impression one gets from the photographs of New York-based photographer Landon Nordeman, whose work we spotted at the excellent photography blog Feature Shoot. Nordeman’s behind-the-scene photos of animal competitions around the world are, well, fascinating, to say the least — the people involved clearly love their animals dearly, but there’s something unsettling about the whole idea of comparing creatures to see which one is the “best” via some arbitrary criterion.
