Only a day after it was announced that Lupita Nyong’o might be starring opposite Chadwick Boseman in Marvel’s/Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther, The Hollywood Reporter says “they’ve learned” that Creed/Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan will be re-teaming with Coogler (who directed and wrote both aforementioned films) for the superhero flick.
The publication doesn’t know who he’d be playing, but whoever their source is said that it “could” be a “villain.” Yes, the “could” there makes it pretty much just as informative as not really saying anything at all. So, if you’re in the mood to continue speculating based on something that hasn’t even been confirmed in the first place, CinemaBlend not too long ago posted a list of villains they think could appear in the film.
This of course could pose a bit of confusion if ever Marvel gets the rights back to the Fantastic Four characters — Michael B. Jordan recently played the Human Torch (in Fox’s last, widely panned Fantastic Four film). Black Panther, which begins filming in 2017, will be released on Feb. 2, 2018.
