Paramount has finally dropped a full-length trailer for Star Trek Beyond after five long months. You might remember the first much-hated clip, featuring the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage.” But the sci-fi franchise has made amends for that misstep, and the action-packed trailer should make traditional Trekkies happy. The third installment in the reboot series, directed by Justin Lin and featuring a script by star Simon Pegg and Doug Jung, will find the USS Enterprise facing a ruthless force of unknown aliens. Idris Elba stars as the villainous Krall, while Sofia Boutella plays an alien named Jaylah who sides with our heroes. The film also stars Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy, John Cho as Mr. Sulu, Anton Yelchin as Chekov, and Pegg as Scotty. Star Trek Beyond hits theaters on July 22, coinciding with the beloved franchise’s 50th anniversary.
