Producer Tony Visconti Apologizes to Adele After She Tells Him to Suck Her Dick

This weekend, the music world found itself in the midst of a very strange beef. It all began when famed producer Tony Visconti (most famous for working with David Bowie) just had to go and talk about how sad the state of mainstream radio is, alluding specifically to the fact that Adele’s voice could very well be manipulated. Adele, of course, responded. And now Visconti has “apologized” for the whole thing.

The beef began when Visconti gave an interview to the Daily Star, saying, “You turn the radio on and it’s fluff, you are listening to 90% computerized voices. We know Adele has a great voice but it’s even questionable if that is actually her voice or how much has been manipulated.” He continued, kind of clarifying the fact that he was talking only generally, “We don’t know. There’s a sound to pop now that is so perfect it’s boring, because everything is fixed.”

Then! Adele reacted in concert, saying that critics who talk about her voice being manipulated can, uh, suck her dick. Classic Adele! (She says this in the below video, though it takes some aural straining to really decipher her comments.)

Anyway, presumably wary of the fact that he’d pissed off one of the music industry’s last safe bets, Visconti has issued an apology to Billboard . Well, kind of. It’s a classic celebrity apology, in which the person apologizes for the way their words were interpreted rather than apologizing for what it was they actually said.

Here’s that statement:

“I’m sorry that what I said in regards to what’s being played on radio was misconstrued yet I cannot apologize for something taken the wrong way. If Adele has taken my comments as offensive that was certainly not my intent.”

Will Adele accept his apology, or will she continue to demand fellatio?
