Lonely Island really never stops never stopping.

With the recent release of Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping coupled with a new Fox sketch-comedy series Party Over Here, The Lonely Island crew were already doing quite well — but now they also have a pilot order for Freeform (formerly known as ABC Family).

The comedy troupe that doubles as a production company, founded by Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, now have the go-ahead from the network to make a pilot for the comedy series, Alone Together. The scripted series, set in Los Angeles, will star comedians Benji Aflalo (Not Safe with Nikki Glaser) and Esther Povitsky (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend). The half-hour show will follow the duo’s unique friendship as they make their way around the self-obsessed city.

Karey Burke, Freeform’s executive vice president, programming and development described the concept in a statement (posted in Variety), calling it “a fiercely funny look at young adults who are unapologetically themselves while blazing their own paths, which fits nicely into the tradition already set by our current slate.”

Alone Together was one of many recent pickups for Freeform, including the sixth season return of the comedy Baby Daddy, and the Bachelor spin-off Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After.
