These are strange days. We’re all a little confused as to how we’ve ended up with Donald Trump as the Republican presidential nominee, and last night on The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert decided to track down the one man who could surely explain the current state of affairs: former Daily Show-host-turned-animal-savior Jon Stewart.
But when Colbert finds Stewart in his secluded cabin in the woods — “I know that you and your beard are very busy these days,” he says — he realizes he’ll have to be the one to break the news to Stewart. Yes, “the guy whose eyes look like tiny versions of his mouth” is the official nominee. God help us all.
