There’s a reason the Walt Disney attractions have amassed a fan following like no other theme park in the world. The Haunted Mansion is one of the park’s most visited attractions — a spooky wonderland where art, old-school theatrical effects, and spectacular new technology meet. Earlier this week, Nerdist shared news that Disney Publishing Worldwide has taken the attraction to the pages of a new young adult novel series called Tales of the Haunted Mansion, now available in stores.
The first book, authored by “mansion librarian Amicus Arcane,” is titled The Fearsome Foursome. It was actually written by award-winning scribe John Esposito (R. L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour, Teen Titans) and features art by Kelley Jones (Batman, Swamp Thing, Sandman). Haunted Mansion fans will be pleased to know it was designed to look exactly like an artifact from the iconic attraction — complete with Easter Eggs about the beloved stretching pictures, floating candelabrums, and lyrics from the Doom Buggy narration.
In honor of the book’s release, we put together a collection of Haunted Mansion fan art to get you in the mood for a macabre tale in the dark.
