The 42nd season of Saturday Night Live is going to see some big changes — including a 30% reduction in ads (minus two commercial breaks per episode) to increase its content, as was reported last year. And now the series is ready to welcome two new players to its lineup.
Vets Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah said goodbye to SNL, but newcomers Chris Redd and Mikey Day hope to fill their shoes. Redd hails from Chicago and was featured in the Lonely Island movie Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. He’ll also appear in the upcoming online project The Adventures Of Black Chaplin, from comedy collective JASH. Day hails from the writing team at SNL (since 2013) and is a Maya & Marty featured performer.
We’ll see what magic they can work when Saturday Night Live returns on October 1.
