Intimate Portraits of People Living on the Streets

Award-winning photographer Pedro Oliveira’s intimate portraits of people living on the streets, which we first learned about on Ego – AlterEgo, are paired with his personal stories about their interactions. From the artist’s website:

In June 2015, I started a personal project casing lives of real people like you and me, who had plans and dreams, but for whatever reason ended up on the streets or shelters. The idea of the project is rather simple: I engage with them, I listen to their stories, and share their pictures. The project’s purpose is to bring awareness over the fine line that separates society and the homeless and hopefully break this huge social wall that makes them practically invisible for most of us.
