J.K. Rowling is Working on Two New Novels

In response to a fan query on Twitter yesterday, Harry Potter scribe and queen of kidlit J.K. Rowling announced that she was working on two new novels, one under her own name and one under her crime writing pen name, Robert Galbraith. This is in addition to her future work on the Fantastic Beasts franchise screenplays. Though we can assume the Galbraith book will be a Cormorant Strike mystery, the second one remains a mystery — perhaps it’s another serious adult book that is hopefully a little less grim in outlook than the promising but relentless The Casual Vacancy,

This is good news for the book industry, which always benefits when Rowling releases new work. Just this week sales reports indicated that this summer, the publication of the Rowling-approved Cursed Child script boosted overall children’s sales tremendously.
