Now that your weekend editor has migrated from the East Coast to the West Coast, she can confirm that everything seems more magical under Los Angeles’ pink skies and lazy palms. LA-based artists Bijou Karman, Vivian Shih, and Juliette Toma agree and are celebrating their city with a series of paintings featured in the co-LAb Gallery exhibition The LAnd Around Us, which we first learned about on Booooooom Design Inc. From local landmarks like Randy’s Donuts, to mundane scenes at a Burbank beauty parlor, and the tourist-y postcards sold at Hollywood junk shops everywhere, see LA through the eyes of three women who live it every day.
