Brooklyn-based photographer Nicholas Pollack, who we first discovered on Booooooom, spent time documenting teens and kids hanging out in Newark, New Jersey’s Branch Brook Park for his series Nothing Gold Can Stay. In a city that has frequently been counted as one of the most dangerous in the United States, Pollack’s photos show a rarely seen vulnerable side to his young subjects, who seem to flit between the innocence of youth and complexities of adulthood. The artist describes his work as being focused on “the experience of love amid life’s chaos and uncertainty.” Pollack published a book of his largely black-and-white series, which you can purchase over here.
