A massive dose of old-New York curmudgeonliness is coming your way in the form of Netflix’s Oh, Hello on Broadway special — the recording of John Mulaney and Nick Kroll’s Broadway show of the same name. The first trailer was just released, and, surprise, it features hilariously bad age makeup and various complaints about minutiae from Gil Faizon (Kroll) and George St. Geegland (Mulaney).
Netflix, of course, is on a (very, very watchable) crusade to monopolize streaming content not just across TV and film, but also — lately — comedy, with weekly specials being released until the end of the year. (As Uproxx points out, they recently also landed Ellen Degeneres’ first comedy special in 15 years.) Their trailer for Oh, Hello doesn’t reveal much of what’s in store — which is part of the fun: the play itself made room for different celebrity guests, and alas, none appear in this trailer — so we’ll have to wait and see which famous person/people were subjected to the kvetching for the recording.
The special will be available to stream on Tuesday, June 13. Watch the trailer:
