If you’re counting down the days to new Grimes (and who isn’t, really?), this one’s for you. The artist recently shared on Instagram that she’s been hard at work on her new album after the release of 2015’s Art Angels. “I kno i’ve been quiet lately — in the studio every day trying to legit make something you’ve never heard before. unexplored sonic landscapes. i need another month or 2 of pure unadulterated creativity at which point i will begin finishing tracks. won’t let u down.” Stereogum reminds us that Grimes already shared that her new project has all the “chill vibes, downtempos, synth-y shit,” and that she wants the new work to be “slower and more reflective.” The award-winning artist also broke the news that she’s included in this year’s Harper’s Bazaar Icons list. Last year, Grimes won Bazaar Women of the Year/Musician of the Year.
