Hauntingly Beautiful Floral Arrangements That Incorporate Unusual Ephemera

Share:

Transplants Floral — an independent floral boutique in Austin, Texas — is run by Antonio Bond. He creates stunning floral designs that incorporate unusual ephemera and trinkets. The objects in Bond’s designs range from meteorites and wasp hives, to statues, welding masks, and more. Bond has a new book out on November 21 from Blue Star Press called Transplants: Eclectic Floral Design.

The creator comes from a family of artists and pickers who spent quality time along roadsides hunting for gems. Bond’s floral arrangements, which vary from large-scale installations to intimate centerpieces, challenge the traditions of the art form and incorporate themes of identity and memory. Some artworks look like vanitas paintings come to life.
