Los Angeles-based painter Daena Title describes herself as a “roaring feminist,” and that perspective, shined through a pop culture prism, is reflected in her work – her subjects include Wonder Woman, Barbie, and Sonia Sotomayor. But she’s particularly fascinated by the contradictions of beauty pageants, and her latest series (which came to our attention on Bored Panda) explores those odd displays via oil, acrylic, and/or mixed media on canvas.
