How to Fake a Grace Jones Cover

So this is interesting: Kanye West has given his web presence a much-needed makeover, and one of the first posts on the new site features the image above — Amber Rose recreating Jean-Paul Goude’s iconic Grace Jones photograph. It’s nice, but we much prefer the original. Take a look at that photo, and find out how Goude and Jones were able to pull off the body-bending pose without the aid of Photoshop, after the jump.

“Unless you are extraordinarily supple, you cannot do this arabesque,” Goude has explained. “The main point is that Grace couldn’t do it, and that’s the basis of my entire work: creating a credible illusion.” He photographed Jones in a variety of positions, using boxes to help prop up her body. These images were then pieced together to create a collage which served as the cover for her 1989 album,

. Perhaps Kanye is planning to use Amber’s photo as the cover of his forthcoming album?
