Earlier this morning Jason Kottke tipped us off to Beautifully Banal, a series of one-of-a-kind, collectible posters commissioned by the Type Directors Club, who have asked a handful of designers to take a classified or personal ad from their local paper and “hijack” it typographically. The resulting works will be auctioned off next month, with proceeds to benefit the TDC Scholarship Fund. Click through to peep a few of our favorites, along with the ugly ads that inspired them.
