The image in this post on Cool Hunting about Jorge Rodridguez Gerada’s 2.5-acre sand painting of Barack Obama — aptly titled “Expectation” — is definitely the coolest thing we’ve seen all day. (If you agree, the Barcelona-based artist is selling signed prints of the work here.)
The massive installation piece was done on the fly with a shoestring budget, as he explained to the site: “People from all walks of life came together to make Expectation a reality. We struggled against a tight production schedule, zero budget and four consecutive days of torrential rain.”
So, whaddya think? And can you imagine any international political figures getting similar treatment on US soil?
